VerdePure-EMC is a safe and effective non-oxidizing biocide with broad-spectrum microbicidal properties. It does not cause the hidden risks to the system associated with chemicals like bromine,iodine, peroxides, or peracetic acid. Due to the unique chemical characteristics of VerdePure-EMC,only a very low dosage is required, greatly enhancing its economic benefits. It can be used to control microbial growth throughout the entire RO process.

Methods of Use:

Biocide VerdePure-EMC can be applied in the following three ways.

(1) Continuous Dosing

Inject VerdePure-EMC upstream of the cartridge filter at a dosage of 1–5 ppm.

(2) Intermittent Continuous Dosing

Inject intermittently on a continuous basis, e.g., for a few hours every day, or every other day or week. This reduces operating costs while effectively controlling bacterial growth. Dosage used is 50–100 ppm.

(3) Shock Dosing

Prepare a biocide solution with 5% concentration of VerdePure-EMC(for cellulose acetate membranes, adjust the solution pH to 4–6 using sulfuric or hydrochloric acid) and introduce it into the system using a low-pressure pump. Soak for 60 minutes;extend the soaking time if the system is heavily fouled. Then flush with RO permeate or demineralized water for 15 minutes. For heavily fouled systems, a 20% concentration biocide solution can be prepared with RO permeate or demineralized water and circulated at low pressure for no less than 60 minutes.(This 20% method is not suitable for cellulose acetate membranes.)
