Sand Control and Consolidation Resin for Oil Production

VerdePeChem-SCR856

Product Overview

The sand control and consolidation resin is a high-performance agent for early-stage sand control in unconsolidated sandstone reservoirs. It is suitable for new wells and newly reperforated wells with no formation voidage, as well as wells that experience rapid sand burial after production begins. For wells showing early sand signs requiring high fluid withdrawal, the near-wellbore zone should be reinforced in advance.
The resin has a wide temperature range. Its strongly polar groups exhibit affinity toward polar groups on sand grains, generating strong adsorption as the resin migrates to and firmly adheres to grain surfaces. During curing, polymerization proceeds, resin viscosity increases, and linear small molecules transform into a three-dimensional network structure with continuously increasing strength. Meanwhile, the curing agent occupies pore spaces within the consolidated body, ensuring minimal damage to the original permeability of the consolidated material.

Physical and Chemical Properties:

  • Appearance: Homogeneous liquid
  • Specific gravity: ≥1.05
  • Compressive strength of consolidated core (MPa) :≥4.0
  • Permeability (mD) :≥1000

Application Method Precautions:

Inject the resin sand consolidation agent into the formation, followed by the curing agent. On the surface, the resin sand consolidation agent and the curing agent must not come into contact with each other – a fresh water spacer must be used between them.
The recommended dosage is 2–3 tons per meter of formation thickness. This product is not suitable for sand control in formations with severe lost circulation.
